from the series “Fragments of Grey Matter” by Kristin Man

Kristin Man was born in Hong Kong, and lived in Europe and North America. Home is pretty much wherever. She found herself immersed in black & white film photography and in the darkroom as a teenager. Even now, that is an important source of influence on her photography. In addition, she is inspired by multiple disciplines: poetry, film, dance, music, philosophy and painting.

The limited edition of Fragments of Grey Matter, Man’s first published monograph, received an award from Tokyo Type Directors Club 2014. The softcover edition, with the same images, may be purchased at Printed Matter (on-line) and Objectifs (Singapore).
